What is supported employment?
Supported employment is a very intensive approach to returning the most severely disabled individuals to work. A Job coach accompanies the client for as long as six months, at least on a part-time basis. They assist with Job modifications, relationships with coworkers,and performance of the job, as needed. Supported employment has succeeded in returning individuals with severe disability to productive employment
What is a sheltered workshop?
Sheltered workshops are certified by the US Department of Labor to pay “subminimum” wages to disabled individuals with diminished earning capacity.
