A way to reinforce society’s norms and values to individuals via agents of socialisation such ass media or peers
What are norms?
Unwritten rules which guide our behaviour in society, they are based on values
What are values?
Society’s standard fir what’s good in society
What is status?
Someone’s position in a particular setting

It is a part you play in society
Culture definition
Set of values norms and assumptions about the world
Subculture definition
A subculture refers to a smaller group within a larger culture (or a minority section of a majority culture)
What is high culture?
This is culture of the upper class.
What is popular culture
This is the culture of ordinary people, people engage in mass forms of entertainment
What is global culture?
It is a result of globalisation, it means the works has become a smaller place where culturally homogeneity is a key feature
What is consumer culture?
Is related to what we buy/consume in society, people portray a sense of identity through what we buy/wear
What is cultural diversity?
Is the existence of a variety of cultural groups within a society
What is cultural hybridity/multicultural
Refers to deafer to cultures living equally in society
What is identity
Refers to a sense of self, it is how individuals see themselves and how they are seen by others
