Q

Placement of the indirect object pronoun.

Where do you place the IOP in a sentence?

A

It depends on two things:

If the sentence has only one verb, place the pronoun before the verb.

Lupita les compra chocolates a los niños.

If the sentence has two verbs, put the pronoun either before the verbs or attached to the infinitive of the second verb.

Lupita les quiere comprar chocolates a los niños.

Lupita quiere comprarles chocolates a los niños.
