What is GNI per capita?
Gross National Income per capita is the total value of goods and services produced by a country per year, plus income earned from investments overseas, then divided by the population.
What is life expectancy?
The average age an individual can expect to live to.
What is the birth rate?
The number of live births per thousand population per year.
What is the death rate?
The number of deaths per thousand population per year.
How is natural increase/decrease of population calculated?
Birth Rate – Death Rate (expressed as a % change rate per year).
What does access to safe water refer to?
Percentage of the population who have reliable potable water supplies.
What is adult literacy?
% of adult population (16+) that can read and write to a basic level.
What is infant mortality?
Number of babies that die before their 1st birthday per 1000 live births.
What is the total fertility rate (TFR)?
The average number of children born per woman.
What is industrial structure?
The relative proportion of the workforce employed in each sector of the economy.
