What is the effect of ‘Both FWC fault’ on the ECAM warning and caution indications
No ECAM cautions or warnings, no status, auto callouts or memo. Cat 2 only.
After a single DMC failure, how would a crew member recover the lost display unit?
ECAM/ND or PFD/ND transfer. DMC switching. Off then on.
What do you see if DMC 1 fails?
Captain’s PFD and ND shows ‘invalid data’
What do you see if DMC 2 fails?
First Officer’s PFD and ND shows ‘invalid data’
What do you see if DMC 3 fails?
DMC 1 takes over ECAM.
Level 1 caution triggers…
Amber caution message on the E/WD
Level 2 caution triggers…
Single chime, steady amber master caution button, amber caution message on E/WD. Relevant system page appears on SD.
Level 3 warning triggers…
CRC or synthetic voice or specific sound. Red flashing master warning button. Red warning message on E/WD, system page appears on SD.
If only one ECAM display unit is operative, how is an advisory brought to the attention of the crew?
ADV shows on EWD, system button flashes on ECU.
What is an Independent failure?
A system failure with no knock on effects
What is a primary failure?
A system failure with knock on effects
What is a secondary failure?
The knock on effects of a primary failure
What does a CRC imply?
Red warning, immediate action required
What does a single chime imply?
Amber caution. action required but no immediate danger.
What does a triple click imply?
LDG capability change or mode reversion
