More common in OLDER ADULTS Manifestations: INCOMPLETE LOSS OF MOTOR FUNCTION, MOTOR WEAKNESS and SENSORY LOSS in BOTH upper and lower extremities (UPPER >LOWER AFFECTED)
Brown-Sequard
Damage to one HALF of the spinal cord Manifestations: LOSS OF PAIN, TEMP and LIGHT TOUCH on OPPOSITE side of injury. LOSS OF MOTOR FUNCTION, VIBRATION, POSITION and DEEP TOUCH on the SAME side as the cord damage.
Posterior Cord Syndrome
RARE!! Damage to the posterior spinal arteries Manifestations: LOSS OF PROPRIOCEPTION (loss ability to tell where you are in space) PAIN, TEMP, SENSATION, MOTOR FUNCTION INTACT
