What is Direct Discrimination?
Direct Discrimination is when you’re treated differently and worse than someone else for certain reasons. The Equality Act says you’ve been treated less favourably.
What is Indirect Discrimination?
Indirect Discrimination is when there’s a practice, policy or rule which applies to everyone in the same way, but it has a worse effect on some people than others. The Equality Act says it puts you at a particular disadvantage.
Who’s overriding responsibility is it to ensure an Inclusive Environment?

Can you name examples of adjustments that wheelchair users need to access and use an office?
Space to manoeuvre – change furniture layout. Height adjustable desk. Easy access for plug points, shelves, printers etc.., emergency facilities such as lifts etc.
Can you define Inclusion?
Inclusion refers to an individual’s experience within his/her workplace and in society, and the extent to which he/she feels valued and included.
What does Diversity mean?
Refers to recognising and respecting and valuing differences in people.
What is neurodiversity?
Refers to the different ways the brain can work and interpret information.
