INCISORS Flashcards
These are located on either side in their respective arch with their mesial surfaces next to one another at midline, usually in contact. Their distal surfaces contact the mesial surfaces of the lateral incisors.
Central incisors
They are just distal to the central incisors, while their mesial surfaces are in contact with the distal surfaces of adjacent central incisors. Their distal surfaces contact the canines.
Lateral incisors
These are pair of eight teeth directly situated in the front and center of your mouth. These pair of teeth are used to take bites of food.
Incisors
What are the functions of incisors?
Cut food, enable articulate speech, help to support the lip and maintain an esthetic appearance, help guide the mandible posteriorly during the final phase of closing just before the posterior teeth contact
GENERAL SIMILARITIES OF MOST INCISORS FROM THE FACIAL VIEWINCISOR CROWNS:
They have relatively ___________ incisal
edge
straight or slightly curved
GENERAL SIMILARITIES OF MOST INCISORS FROM THE FACIAL VIEWINCISOR CROWNS:
Crowns are relatively rectangular, _________ than wide mesiodistally
longer incisogingivally
GENERAL SIMILARITIES OF MOST INCISORS FROM THE FACIAL VIEWINCISOR CROWNS:
They _____ from the widest mesiodistal areas of
proximal contact toward the cervical line
Taper
GENERAL SIMILARITIES OF MOST INCISORS FROM THE FACIAL VIEWINCISOR CROWNS:
The incisor crown outlines are more convex on the distal than on the mesial surfaces EXCEPT on?
mandibular central incisors
GENERAL SIMILARITIES OF MOST INCISORS FROM THE FACIAL VIEWINCISOR CROWNS:
The incisor mesioincisal angles are more _____
than distoincisal angles EXCEPT on
mandibular central incisors
