Assessment of in-hospital resuscitation - 1st 3 steps?
Approach collapsed/sick patient
Shout for help and assess patient
Signs of life? - check consciousness and normal breathing, check for carotid pulse <10 seconds
Assessment of in-hospital resuscitation - if no signs of life?
Cardiac Arrest
Call Resus Team
Collect Resus Equipment
Give CPR (30:2, compressions 5-6cm at 100-120bpm, allow complete recoil, breaths 1 second to rise chest wall)
Oxygen and airway adjuncts
Switch compressor at every rhythm assessment
Apply defibrillation pads
Attempt defib if indicated
ALS and handover to resus team
Assessment of in-hospital resuscitation - signs of life?
Medical Emergency
Call Resus team/Medical emergency team
ABCDE Assessment
High flow O2
Monitoring
Vascular Access
Consider Resuscitation team
