Seatbelt
Not ripped or torn, unbuckles and buckles properly
Instructor Seat Belted
Ask them to put on their seatbelt if not already on
Fire Extinguisher
Full and up to date
Storage Compartment
Inside there are: three emergency triangles, extra fuses, hose and belts, windshield fluid reservoir
Mirrors and Supports
Not cracked or broken
Highway Horn
Not cracked or broken and demonstrate that it works.
City Horn
Not cracked or broken and demonstrate that it works.
Windshield
Crack nom ore than 1/4 inch
Weather stripping
No cracked or broken, no leaks
Turn on Key to Check Electrical Components.
ABS Lights
“This is my ABS Light, It indicates my vehicle is equipped with anti locks brakes and they are functioning properly”
Window
Clean, demonstrate that it rolls up and down, no stickers, no leaks
Turn on and off every light switch
Light switch not cracked or broken.
Windshield Wipers
Not cracked or broken, Demonstrate that they work.
Hazard Lights
Not cracked or broken
Operating Switches
Identify but don’t need to demonstrate
Gauges
Water Temp Gauge
No more than 200 degrees
Oil Pressure Gauge
Between 30-60 PSI
Tachometer.
Do not exceed 1500 rpm
Speedometer
Follow all speed limits
Fuel Gauge
Fill no more than 95% for vapor expansion
DEF Meter
Filled at operating levels
Primary and Secondary Air Tanks
Max is 120-140 psi
