What are the types of irrigation
Wells, canals, river lift systems and tanks
What are dug wells
In a dug well, water is collected from water bearing strata.
What are tube well
Tube wells can tap water from the deeper strata and well water is lifted by pumps for irrigation.
What are river lyft systems
Water is directly drawn from the rivers for supplementing irrigation in areas close to rivers.
What are tanks
These are small storage reservoirs which store water and are used to irrigate fields manually.
What is mixed cropping
Mixed cropping is growing two or more crops simultaneously on the same piece of land
What is inter-cropping
Inter-cropping is growing two or more crops simultaneously on the same field in a pattern
