Section 7: the senate
The senate shall be composed of senators for each state, directly chosen by the people of the state
Section 24: constitution of House of Representatives
The House of Representatives shall be composed by members directly chosen by the people of the commonwealth
Section 109: inconsistency of laws
When a law of the state is inconsistent with a law of the commonwealth, the latter shall prevail to the extent of the inconsistency
Section 116: commonwealth not to legislate in respect of religion
Commonwealth shall not make any law for establishing any religion or for imposing one
Section 128: mode of altering the constitution
The constitution shall not be altered in any other way other then being passed by both Houses of Parliament and achieving a double majority
Section 71: judicial power and courts
Judicial power of the commonwealth shall be invested in a Supreme Court known as the high court of Australia
