Long pine aim
- Aim - A last attempt to break the stalemate on Gallipoli and designed to be a diversion for another assault further north

○ 1 hour of artillery bombardment shelled the Turkish positions
○ Australians crossed no man’s land through heavy fire and suffered many casualties
○ Allies found that the trenches had been covered with pine logs and had to break through before continuing their attack

○ After 4 days of hand to hand combat, the Anzacs gained control of the Turkish Trenches
○ 2,300 Anzac casualties and 6,000 Turkish casualties
○ It remains to be one of the few allied successes of the Gallipoli campaign

Aim - To push the Trukish out from their trenches on the slopes that had allowed them to dominate Australian positions bellow on the Northen end of the Anzac Front Line

○ Failed bombardment of Turkish positions by a British destroyer offshore - bulk of shells fell beyond target, ended 7 minutes early leaving time for Turkish to re-man their positions and prepare
○ First and second wave of allies were immediately shot down as they charged over the hill
○ There was a dispute if the third and then forth wave should be cancelled but in the confusion both waves also went

there were 138 wounded and 234 casualties out of the 600 troops involved in a mere in a 45 minute period
