Who created it and why

A

The Anzac legend was created by both Ellis Ashmead-Bartlett and Charles Bean. Bartlett wrote extensively about the landing in Gallipoli and how fearless Australians were within his reports and his book; Australians at Dardanelles: thrilling deeds of heroism. Charles bean was another significant figure who created this legend by writing the Anzac Book. This legend was created to give Australia and New Zealand their national identity, as it was their first major war. It was also needed to created to recover from the bad reputation of the training camp in Egypt and used as propaganda in increase enlistment rates.
