What are the outcomes of posterior maxillary sinus perforation when creating osteotomies for implant placement?

Typically, entering the sinus is of little consequence and the penetrated site heals uneventfully. If perforation occurs, decrease depth of drills and place a shorter implant that does not enter the sinus.
