Q

Collective Security

A

One aim of the League of Nations is to achieve collective security to maintain peace and security. For example, member nations were required to join as one collective force to counter any threats of the war. This means that nations have to work together through international cooperation to prevent war and conflicts. Therefore, member nations had high aspirations to achieve world peace through international cooperation and through just and honest relations. It was important for an organisation to be set up to prevent such large scale wars from happening again. Therefore, one aim of the League of Nation is collective security.

Q

Disarmament

A

One aim of the League of Nation is disarmament as nations will peacefully settle their differences and not use violence. For example, military capabilities would be reduced through international agreements. The TOV imposed armament restrictions on Germany and its allies. The allied powers also had to disarm. Thus, the league implemented disarmament to prevent a large scale war from ever happening again as wars have started due to intense military competition. Therefore, it was important that such a situation does not arise again. Thus one aim of the LON was disarmament.
