It did not recognize may rights for women and favored the authority of the state, the employer, the father and the husband.

A

Some criticized the code because it contradicted many goals of the revolution.

Illegitimate children were barred from inheritance. Divorce was made much harder to obtain and women’s rights all but disappeared.
