Immunology Flashcards
How do keratoncytes react to microbes?
They release antimicrobial peptides
Which T cells are found in the epidermis?
CD8+ T cells
Which T cells are found in the dermis?
CD8+ and CD4+ T cells
Which T cells are linked to psoriasis?
TH1 and TH17
Which T cells are linked to atopic dermatitis?
TH2
How do langerhann cells work?
Act like dendritic cells and bind to microbe
Travel via lymphatic system to lymph nodes
CD4+ T cells with correct fit bind to epitome and produce cytokines
Cytokines trigger B cells in germinal centre to proliferate
CD8+ T cells travel to epidermis
TH1 CD4+ cells release what cytokine?
IL2 and IFNY to activate macrogphages
TH2 CD4+ cells release what cytokines?
IL4 IL5 IL6 which help B cells to make antibodies
MHC 1 Complex
Found on all cells and presenting an endogenous antigen
Used for self cell recognition.
Present to CD8+ T cells
MHC II complex
Only found on Antigen presenting cells
Present to CD4+ cells
