Immunology Flashcards
1
Q
Vasodilators
A
Nitric oxide
Histamine via basophils
Prostaglandins
Low pH
2
Q
How to block vasodilation
A
- Block signal ( release of histamine)
- Block receptors
- Exhaust substrate
- Destroy signal
3
Q
What causes leafiness?
A
Squamous cells. Tight junctions and desmosomes.
Pores develop.
4
Q
Chemokines
A
Small proteins that are released into leaky blood vessel. This is a cytokine.
WBC have receptors for chemokines. Bind. Respond.
This signals microtubules to contract causing the WBC to lurch toward signal.
5
Q
Thromboxane A2
A
Prothrombotic secreted by activated platelets. Recruits more platelets.
6
Q
What do mast cells release?
A
Histamine
Leukotrienes
PGE
7
Q
Endothelin
A
Vasoconstrictor
Cause sticky platelets
8
Q
Inflammation.
First Wave
