IFN-12

A
  • released by NK cells and Th1 cells
  • Host cell mediated defense
  • IL-12 secretion by a infected macrophage( in this case a intracellular mycobacterium )
  • IFN then binds to receptor on the macrophage leading to dimerization and activation of the Janus Kinases 1 and 2.
  • Results in nuclear signalling via STAT1 and transcription of IFN-gamma regulated genes
