polio vaccine is a series of?
4 (2-4-6 months and 6 years)
inactivated polio vaccine
oral (live virus) is discouraged but can be given only at number 3 and 4
contraindicated in those with hx of anaphylaxis to streptomycin
Influenza dose?
is given annually beginning at age 6 months
if 1st dose give 2 doses 1 month apart if less than 9 years
in children 6-35 months the dose is .25 ml IM
in children greater than or equal to 3 years .5 ml IM
MMR is a series of?
2 (1 year and 12 years)
if exposed can be given as early as 6 months but will need to continue primary series
do not give to pregnant or immunosuppressed
Varicella series?
2 (12 months and 12 years, min. 3 months apart)
prefer to separate by 1 month of MMR
do not give when pregnant or immunocompromised
contraindicated in persons with streptomycin allergy
Hep A series of?
2 (1year to 2 years, 6 months apart)
meningococcal series of?
2 (ages 11-12 and booster at 16)
if 1 st dose is at 16, no booster is necessary
HPV series?
3 (11 or 12, 2nd dose given 1 month after 1st, then 3rd dose is given 6 months after initial dose)
