A
Red or pink spotty rash
- takes 2-3 weeks to appear
- starts behind ears and spreads to head, neck and body
- feels rough or bumpy
Aching fingers, wrists or knees
Temp > 38
Cough
Sneezing/runny nose
Headache
Sore throat
Sore, red eyes

A

Usually self-resolving - 1 week

  • rest
  • hydration
  • paracetamol or ibuprofen

Complications of rubella

A

During pregnancy - less than 20 weeks

  • miscarriage
  • structural deformities of feotus - sight, hearing, heart or brain
