Q

Inflammatory response: what, why, process

A
  • Occurs when tissue is injured by bacteria etc.
  • Damaged cells will release chemicals including histamine, bradykinin, and prostaglandins. This will cause blood vessels to leak fluid into tissues causing swelling.

Q

Reason for Inflammation

A
  • Redness, heat, swelling, pain,
  • Inflammatory release: helps repair tissue, histamine released
  • Vasodilation
  • Phagoacyte mobilization

Q

Histamine is released by what, when, and causes what

A

Is released by mast-cell bound IgE antibodies when they bind to an antigen will cause vasodilation (increased blood flow)
