How does phagocytosis

Detect= pathogens release chemicals that attract phagocytes
Engulf= once the phagocyte has recognised the foreign antigen on the surface of the pathogen it engulfs it by extending its neutrophils around the cytoplasm and engulfing it
Digestion = lysosomes fuse with the vesicle and release hydrolytic enzymes that digest the pathogen and kill it
The phagocyte then displays the pathogens antigen on its cell surface membrane
