What is sarcopenia?
A
Age related loss of muscle mass and function. Also infiltration of fat into muscle (termed sarcopenic obesity)

What does sarcopenia put you at greater risk of?
A
Cardiometabolic disorder eg insulin resistance, metabolic sundrome, CVD

What interventions can be taken to reduce sarcopenia?
A
Progressive resistance- Increase strength and endurance and functional measures eg chair stands
Aerobic training increases endurance

What is rehabilitation?
A
An active process by which disabled people recover fully or reach their optima functional ability

What is reablement?
A
An approach which helps people with poor physical or mental health to accomodate their illness
