A

Males represent 7.8% of the RN population. In the past, male nurses had to become orderlies for better pay and they were never encouraged to become nurses.

How is nursing seen as Anglocentric?

A

Black, japanese and indigenous women could not become nurses. Women of colour went to separate schools. Indigenous women were encouraged to go back to the reserves. It was mostly young whit women who became nurses.

A

Was predominant 1854 to 1919.
Was noble, heroic, submissive and moral.
Accepted being inferior to men.
The ideal Victorian woman who was pious, virtuous and ritualistic. This developed the role of women and prepared them for marriage.
