Job Analysis
indicates all aspects of the job activities of the individuals who will be hired to achieve the goals of the organization
Job Description
includes job titles, job code, location, job summary, performance requirements, supervision, qualifications
Job Specification
sets minimum qualifications needed to perform the job. Includes payroll title, department, supervisor, job summary, education, experience, skills, physical and personal requirements, references, hours, wages, promotional opportunities
Constant workload
activities that are not directly associated with departmental outputs and must be done regardless of volume
Variable workload
activities directly related to production (i.e. # of admissions, examinations, or laboratory tests)
Orientation program
programs that familiarize and acquaint a new employee to the organization, the department, and the job responsibilities
Training Programs
programs that teach or improve skills and concepts
Cost-Benefit Analysis
determines if alternative actions will produce better financial or operational results
Cost Effectiveness
an analytical tool in which costs and effects of a program and at least one alternative are calculated and presented in a ratio of incremental costs to incremental effects.

Parity Principle
a principle that states authority and responsibility must coincide whenever delegation of tasks takes place between a manager who has the right to delegate the task and a proper subordinate who has the ability to accept the responsibility of completing the task. (The authority must be given to complete the task and the subordinate must take ownership or responsibility for the task)
