Q

B. metabolized materials
2. protein metabolism

A
  • ammonia is byproduct of protein
    breakdown
^ protein is made of amino acids
  • ammonia is very toxic
^ we have to get rid of it
  • ammonia is sent to liver
  • the solution to pollution is dilution and diffusion
  • bacteria kills ammonia to make proteins

a) making urea
- liver converts ammonia to urea
b) extracting urea from blood
i. kidneys
- kidneys filter wastes from blood
- ureters transport it to bladder
through the ureters
ii. bladder
- urea and other waste stores as
urine in the bladder and eliminated
through the urethra
^ when urea is full, then you need to
use the bathroom
