- Cannot be mere words, insults, or indignities.

A
- Intentional / Reckless Conduct
- That is extreme or Outrageous
- causal connection between wrongful conduct and Emotional distress
- Severe emotional distress

Reckless conduct
A
Failure to heed a very obvious and significant risk of injury.

Severe Emotional Distress
A
“so severe that no reasonable person could bear it.”
Context is important:
- physical evidence to support it
- mental state
- circumstances such as behavior.
Physical injury is not required to prove IIED.
