What is the common path of egress travel? How do you remember this?
Common path of egress travel, also known as FARTHEST common path of egress travel, is length of the path at the most remote point to a point of choice.
If you are given a suite and/or multi-family housing on the PRAC exam, the point of choice will be out in the common corridor if the suite only has one exit. If the suite has 2 exits, the common path will be in the suite of the floor plan.
What is the total travel distance?
This is the length required to get to an exit. This includes the common path of egress.
