What kind of thing make you laugh?
I laugh most when I talk about funny things with my close friends. I also laugh a lot when I watch comedy films or comedians.
Do you like making other people laugh?
yes it’s a nice feeling when you can make someone laugh because you can see them happy. I love sharing some funny moment with someone.
Do you think it’s important for people to laugh?
I think it good for you because it can refresh your mind and improve your stress after a hard work day. moreover, it also make other people around feel comfortable when you share funny things and laugh together.
Is laughing the same as feeling happy ?
I think it’s not exactly the same because you can be happy without laughing, but sometimes you can laugh when something bad has happened.
At work or in your studies, do you often write things?
Now i’m working in an architectural design studio like a designer so I usually draw instead of writing. But sometime, I also type on computer for contract or client’s brief.
How often do you send emails?
I usually write 2 or 3 emails to send to my client or my co-worker a week for work.
I rarely write emails for my family or my friends. I often use chat apps to communicate with my friend instead of sending emails.
Do you prefer to write by hand or on a computer ?
in some case I prefer to type on computer because I want to save what I write and share it with other people. but in other case I write by hand to take note or my idea.
Do you think computers might one day replace handwriting ?
my answer is no, although typing on computer bring many benefits. It’s easy to save what you write and share it to other people. But I believe people alway good when they write by hand. This is the reason why at many school around the world they still teach children write by hand before learning type on computer.
Tell me about the kind of accommodation you live in
Now i’m living in an apartment with 1 living room, 1 kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 toilets. it’s about 100 square meter.
i also have a balcony where I have a tiny garden with many type of plants. it’s not a big apartment but it’s infinite for me.
How long have you lived there ?
I have been there about 1 year. it’s not a short time but I want to live in there in a long time. because, as you know we have a great apartment, a great balcony with a tiny garden. we have a host who is a good guy.
What do you like about living there ?
i like living there because i live with my close friends. it’s really happy.
The host of apartment is a good guy.
The environment and atmosphere in there is very good and fresh.
What sort of accommodation would you like to live in ?
If i have a chance, i want to live in a house that is in riverside
or mountainside where has a cooler climate than HCMC.
How do you usually keep in touch with members of your family?
I usually keep in touch with members of my family by phone, i also use internet to make video call.
I often try to visit my family around twice or three times a year.
Do you prefer to speak to people by phone or by writing emails ?
I prefer to make phone call with my parent or my siblings. But with my client or my partner, i prefer to write and send emails to communicate with them because of cooperation.
Do you ever write letters by hand ?
Let me see. I think I never write a letter by hand. As you know, when I was born, mobile phone, computer and internet was developing. It’s easy to make a conversation by a phone call or an email.
Is there anything you dislike about mobile phone?
there are many situation make me uncomfortable about mobile phone. for instance, I hate hearing somebody’s mobile phone ring in the library or cinema because it interrupt my concentration when I’m reading or watching
are clothes and clothings fashion important to you ?
No, clothes and fashions are not really important to me. Because I usually chose something what make me comfortable to wear.
what different clothes do you wear for different situation?
i often wear long-sleeve shirt and jeans for work. At home i prefer to wear t-shirt and short and on special occasion i might wear a suit.
Do you wear different styles of clothes now compared 10 years ago?
no, its not really different, because i don’t follow fashion. So i usually choose something make me comfortable to wear. one of my favourite are jeans and tshirt. its practical.
Do you think the clothes we wear say something about who we are?
Yes, it’s exactly in some situations. With somebody, they are very careful about what they wear because they always want others around them see them like fashionable star. With others, they want to show their wealth through what they wear.
Which musical instrument do you like listening to most ?
I suppose it’s guitar because it’s very popular with many people in Vietnam. and I had period of time to learn to play guitar when I was a student at high school. Moreover, guitar is really easy to play in many situation.
Have you ever learn to play a musical instrument ?
when i was a high school student, my father taught me to play guitar. i have played guitar everyday in that time. But now, i dont have time to practise but i still have a guitar at home.
Do you think children should learn to play an instrument at school ?
Yes, i think it’s great skill to connect every people.
Moreover, they can become a musical artist in the future if they have opportunity to learn to play any musical instrument at school when they are young children.
on contrary it’s really useful in some situation at school or university, especially when you want to create a connection with other people around you.
Do you think it’s easy to learn to play a musical instrument without teacher ?
I suppose it’s very hard when you learn something new without teacher who can talk what you do. but nowadays in modern life, it will be easier because you can find a lot of lesson can teach you to play guitar, piano or any musical instrument on YouTube or social network.
How is your next-door neighbours ?
my neighbours is an extended family with grandpa, grandma, father, mother and two kids, one boy and one girl. I think they are twin. they are around 5 or 6 years old. I think they are good people because they are alway quiet and smile with me in elevator or in corridor.
How often do you see them ?
I usually see them at least a few times a week.
I see them when i’m leaving for work in the morning
and coming home in the evening
What problems do you have sometimes with your neighbors ?
i think the most problem is probably noise. It’s difficult to live next to people who have a dog that barks at night, or who play loud music or have many parties
Do you like parks ? Why or why not ?
yeah I love parks. I suppose park is the unique place you can see a lot trees, plants and wild animals in many big city. And this is the place you can enhance your interaction with nature and other people. When I was a student at university I spend a lot of time to go to park for playing sports or running. I think parks is a place where you can enhance your interaction with nature in a modern city like hcmc.
How often do you visit parks ?
I go to the park a lot when I was a student at university for running, playing sport or outside activities with my friend. Now I don’t have time to visit park because my house far from it.
Why are parks an important part of many towns and cities ?
nowadays, I think a lot space spend for residence. so the unique place for tree, plants, and animals is park. this is reason why it’s very important in modern life in many city. It’s place people can enhance their interaction with nature and other people.
What do you think could be done to make parks better ?
I alway love parks in many big city around the world. and parks in HCM city should be improved by many solution like growing more trees and plants and improve sanitation quality.
Do you have a favourite number or a number that is special to you ?
My favourite number is eight.
because it is the day that i and my girl friend were born and it is my lucky number.
do any numbers have special importance in your country ?
I think it is seven. Because in our country’s culture, July is the seventh month in a year is called the month of ghost. In this month you can fact any unlucky thing if you don’t have care.
