typical presentation of idiopathic intracranial hypertension
A
- a constant throbbing headache which may be worse in the morning, when leaning forward/lying down or when coughing or sneezing
- temporary loss of vision on changing stance (sitting to standing) may occur

what causes idiopathic intracranial hypertension?
A
increased CSF present in brain

treatment for idiopathic intracranial hypertension
A
- Caused by increased CSF present in the brain, therefore treatment is based around reducing CSF production – acetazolamide
- You may also add a diuretic to excrete more fluids
