- Islam teaches all people are born as Muslims and made into followers of other faiths by their upbringing in their homes.
- When a non-muslim turns to Islam, It’s as if they are coming home. They are called ‘reverts’.

- There is great diversity across the Islamic world.
- Within the Ummah, all muslims are equal regardless of language or nationally.
- All Muslims believe in One God (Allah) and that Muhammad is his prophet.
- The five pillars are beliefs and practices that are common to all muslims.
- Attending a mosque is also an important feature of a muslim community.

Clothing - Hijab
A
- The way Muslim women dress varied from culture to culture across the world.
- Hijab is the headscarf, veil or modest dress worn by muslim women.
- Burkha is a loose-fitting garment which covers the whole body from head to feet.
- Niqab is a veil covering the whole face except the eyes.
- Men and women must dress modestly, not to encourage sexual interest.
- Men should cover the main paret of their bodies.
- Women should not reveal bare flesh. Except face, hands, and feet.
- In wales, many muslim women choose to wear the hijab.
- Women do not wear hijab at home.
Men should focus ona. woman’s personality, not physical appearance.

Hijab - importance
A
- Some wear the hijab because Allah commanded women to dress modestly.
-Wearing the hijab is a personal choice reflecting personal devotion to God. - Wearing the Hijab is a sign of their muslim identity.
- Wearing the hijab makes the women feel protected by Allah.
- Wearing the hijab is an act of worship like prayer of fasting.
- Other muslims see no need to cover their heads. They do not see it as duty but as a stereotype image that they have no need to take on.
- There is a view from some Western feminists that the hijab is a sign of women being oppressed or silenced.
