What are the requirements for conducting formal procedures?
Montage - certified by officer conducting procedure.
Others - no fewer then seven with the suspect.
Record - written of the procedure is sworn to be true.
Procedure - complies with any relevant regulations.
ASAP - after the offence is reported.
Inclusion - the suspect may or may not be in montage.
No Indication - as to which one is the suspect.

What are the six good reasons for not following a formal identification?
Refuse - Suspect refuses and police do not have a photo.
Singular Appearance - cannot be compared to 7 others.
Appearance - has changed since the offence occurred.
Chance Meeting - between witness and suspect.
Soon - suspect ID’d soon after offence reported.
Identification - would not be an issue at trial.

What are the four methods of identification?
Formal Visual identification (ID parade, photo montage)
Voice identification
Finger, palm and foot prints
Forensic examination
