- the higher the RPM, the faster the platters spin allowing data to pass by the read/write head more quickly resulting in faster data transfer
- The speed also depends on how fragmented the data is scattered throughout the platters as it will take more time for the read/write head to find the fragments and to defragment them

it enhances security as it fixes bugs in the software so it is less likely to get a virus

connects multiple networks and direcrs data between them
what is asymentric encryption?
it is where data is scrambled into an un-readable form during transmission
how is WPA more secure than a WEP?
WPA assignes a new key to every device and for every packet of data while WEP uses the same key to encrypt and decrypt data
