How does the system sense ice?

A

2 probes vibrate at a high frequency, when the frequency decreases it sends a message notifying ICE &ICE DET illuminates

How do you do the ICE DETECTION TEST?

A

press the ice test for 5 seconds and you should receive a AMBER ICE on ED1 & ADS heat test ok on status page

A

Hot bleed air from either 6th or 10th stage bleed ait

In what order do you turn on the Anti-ice system?

A

Wings first then cowls. Does not matter which way it is turned off.

What controls the anti-ice system?

A

ADSHC Air Data Sensor Heat Controllers. Ensures that that probes and sensors are heated prior to T/O regardless of switch position.

What does the T2 probe do?

A

it is mounted in the engine cowling and sends data to FADEC to help give info to set power and control geometry stator vanes
