Ice and rain protection Flashcards
Which System detecs icing conditions and commands ice protection logic?
IASCs and EECs
intergates Air System Sontrollers and Electronic Engine Control
Are tail surfaces deiced?
No tail surfaces are deiced
Hom many ice detectors are there on fuselage?
Dual ice detectors, one on each side of the fuselage
How deas the ice detector detect ice?
The sensing element in the ice detector probe is an electrical oscillator
that vibrates at a specific frequency. Ice on the sensing element is
detected by a change in the vibration frequency of the oscillator. When
ice is detected, the sensing element momentarily heats up to de-ice.
After icing conditions are detected, how long the ICE advisory stays on?
1 minute
After icing conditions are detected, how long the anti-ice system continues to operate?
2 min
What does ice detection system information change in fly by wire system?
It changes stall warning parameters
Are inboard slats between engine and fuselage de-iced and heated?
No
How do the Piccolo tubes on wing leading edge work?
Which stage engine compressor bleed air does the CAI system use?
6th stage
If durign takeoff COWL Anti-ice is AUTO but icing conditions exist, until when is the AUTO mode inhibited?
1500feet AGL or 2 minutes after takeoff
What happens if CAI is selected ON on the ground with temp greater then 15 deg C?
CAI valves remain closed
Hoe many cowl anti-ice temperature sensors each engine has?
2
When are Angle of Attach sensors heated?
Always whenever AC has electrical power
Which probes are heated with Probe Heat button?
TAT and ADS probes are heated for 2 minutes
