A

Decrease swelling, activate sympathetic neurons, 15-20 mins (after 15-20 mins adverse Hunting reaction with rise and fall of temperature)

  • document after 5 mins, greatest effect on A delta fibers
  • can decrease spasticity immediately and facilitate muscle contraction
  • inspect skin every 10 minutes

  • Cold Hypersensitivy (Urtica/ Hives can lead to wheals)
  • Cold Intolerance
  • Cryoglobulinemia
  • Paroxymal Cold Hemoglobulinuria
  • Raynaud’s Disease
  • Over regenerating PN or area with PVD
