Engine failure or fire in flight

  1. Failed engine - Verify. **
  2. Condition lever - Cutoff. **
  3. Propeller lever - Feather. **
  4. Firewall fuel valve - Pull closed
  5. Fire Extinguisher - As required
  6. Auto Ignition - Off
  7. Autofeather - Off
  8. Propeller Sync (if installed) - Off
  9. Generator - Off
  10. Electrical load - Within limits
  11. Bleed Air Valve - Inst & Envir Off

  1. Oil Pressure Gage - Check pressure. **
  2. If below 60 psi - secure engine or land at nearest suitable airport using minimum power required. **
  3. If between 60-90 psi - Do not exceed 2000 torque

  7. Defrost air - Pull on
    If fire persists or if fire is not confirmed out:
  8. Master switch - Off
  9. Vent Air - Pull on
  10. Land at nearest suitable airport. Plan to land with existing flaps and extending the gear manually.
  11. Refer to the AFM or QRH for procedures on restoring partial power
