A
Hypoxia during birth which is prolonged causing ischaemic brain damage.

A
Permanent brain damage, cerebral palsy, and if severe enough can result in death

A
Maternal shock, intraparum haemorrhage, prolapsed cord, nuchal cord

A
Resuscitation with optimal ventilation, circulatory support, nutrition, acid base balance and seizure treatment.

What is the action of cooling
A
Therapeutic cooling/hypothermia can be used to protect the brain from hypoxic injury
