Hypothesis Development Flashcards
1
Q
Feasible research question considerations
A
- Sample Size (Number); Larger the better
- Time (constraints of where you do research and be completed within 3-6 months, Type of Population, data analysis, IRB board)
- Instrumentation (access)
2
Q
When developing a research question what is necessary?
A
- You must be interested in it (long, grueling process)
- Should be novel (meaningful spin on existing studies; cross-validation)
- Should provide value in form of save time or economics
3
Q
Ethics - Research Questions
A
- Potential benefits > risks of research
- Standard of Care
4
Q
Formula for a research questions
A
Topic (Venn Diagram to help explain relationship), Problem, Framework (theoretical perspective), Question/Hypothesis
5
Q
Problem - Categories
A
- Clinical practice vs knowledge
- Knowledge vs knowledge (inconsitent findings)
- Policy vs action
- Lack of knowledge
6
Q
Framework
A
Theoretical perspective from which the problem will be viewed
- Guides research question
Ex:
-Neurogical
- Biomechanical
- Financial
