alcohol, infection, ↑insulin + ↑activity, ↓food

Sx hypos?

A

autonomic: shakes, palpy, nervous, hungry
neuroglycopenia: tingling, numb, fatigues, drowsy, coma, seizures

Tx hypos?

A

ALERT: eat/drink 10-20g glucose (then carbs when >4)

CONFUSED but can SWALLOW: 2 tubes GlucoGel

UNCONSCIOUS: IV glucose (20:100ml or 10:200ml)

(glucagon 1mg IM/SC if access difficult or at home)

recheck after 15 mins
