Hypertrophy Flashcards
1
Q
criteria for LAE
A
- P wave > 0.12 sec w/ terminal portion > 0.04 sec
- Terminal portion of P wave in V1 > 1 mm below
1
Q
criteria for RAE
A
- P wave > 2.5 mm in Inferior lead (II, III, aVF)
- Normal P wave: < 0.12 sec and < 2.5 mm
2
Q
what makes a normal QRS?
A
- Axis between 0 and 90
- R wave progression in precordial leads
3
Q
criteria for RVH
A
- Limb Lead Criteria:
- RAD
- Negative QRS in L leads (I, aVL) - Chest Lead Criteria:
- V1 - R wave > S wave
- V6 - S wave > R wave
4
Q
criteria for LVH
A
- Limb Lead Criteria:
- aVL - R >11 mm - Chest Lead Criteria:
- (V5/V6) R + (V1/V2) S = >35 mm
5
Q
what is the exception with LVH?
A
- Not accurate in < 35 y/o
- Only changes amplitude of ventricular depolarization, not timing
- Can also present with secondary repolarization abnormalities - Downsloping ST segment depression, T-wave inversion
- If pt presents with abnormal repolarization with LVH = GET ECHO
6
Q
how does an abnormal repolarization look like?
A
asymmetrical, downslope of T wave
