How may the arterioles appear in hypertension?
In established chronic hypertension there may be localized or generalized narrowing, or even apparent absence of some regions of the arterioles
How may retinal haemorrhages appear?
Retinal hemorrhages range from discrete dot‐like intraretinal hemorrhages to large preretinal hemorrhages from the retinal vessels; some of these are the result of ruptured aneurysms. In cats with severe hypertension and papilledema there may be peripapillary edema and hemorrhage at the level of the retinal nerve fibers, which radiate in spoke‐like fashion from the ONH periphery
What are the main things you will see with hypertension in the retina
Retinal haemorrhage Narrowing of arterioles increased reflectivity of the tapetum retinal detachement (bullous projections) Pigmentary disturbances
