Lip moisturizer

When preforming oral hygiene

Raise to waste level
Put on gloves
Apply towel
Add toothpaste to toothbrush and pour water over it
Brush teeth from gums upwards
Brush tongue gently
Let client rise mouth
Remove towel
Discard gloves, HH
Lower bed
Provide client with call bell

What to look for in mouth

Sores, white patches, bleeding, swollen gums or loose teeth

When cleaning dentures

Care plan
Line the sink with towel
Apply gloves, HH
Expect dentures
Apply cleaning agent, or toothpaste
Rise dentures
Brush outer surface over sink with back and forth
Position brush vertically to clean inner surface using upward stroke
Rise denture
Place in kidney basin
Rise denture cup and dry
Place clean dentures inside
Remove gloves, HH
Apply gloves
Clean sink and ring out towel
Remove glows, HH
