What is a complete/total bath?
A
-patient is dependent for care - to ill to bathe themselves; total bed bath, we cleanse them in their bed

Complete or total Assisted Partial Tub Shower Bag bath

What is an assisted (self-help) bath?
A
- patient is able to bathe with some assistance; nurse might need to do the parts that they cannot reach, like feet and back

What is a partial bath?
A
- areas prone to odour are washed regularly - face and hands, underarms, and peri-care

What is a tub bath?
A
- to rinse the entire body; often has jets on it, will massage parts of body and exfoliate their skin; not necessarily done every day; often therapeutic; do anything to make bathing as comfortable as possible for the patient

In what order do you bathe a patient?
A
move from clean to dirty
face - arms (axillae) - hands - chest - abdomen - legs - feet - back - peri-care
work from head to toe and proximal to distal
