what is the aseptic technique?
A procedure performed under sterile conditions.
what does sterilising do?
destroy microorganisms (e.g. bacteria, viruses and fungi) in or on an object.
what is Penicillin?
an antibiotic or group of antibiotics produced naturally by certain blue molds, and now usually prepared synthetically.
What is a vaccination?
An injection that produces a mild form of a disease in order to help build up an immunity to it.
what is Tuberculosis (TB)?
infectious bacterial disease, most commonly spread by inhalation of small particles and usually affecting the lungs; may spread to other organs
what is the Bubonic Plague?
Also called the Black Death was a deadly disease that spread through Europe and killed one out of every three people. Caused by a microbe.
What is Malaria?
A disease caused by mosquitoes implanting parasites in the blood.
what is bacterium?
a type of microorganism consisting of single cells.
what is yeast?
a type of fungus
