Hydraulics/Pneumatic Flashcards
What drives the #1 and #2 hydraulic pumps?
Transmission accessory gearboxes
How much hydraulic power is supplied when the main rotor is turning?
3000 PSI
How is the the backup hydraulic pump powered?
115 vac electric motor
If AC power is available, what can the back up pump do?
Provides hydraulic pressure should one or both hydraulic pumps fail
What do the hydraulic pump filters do?
The filters have an indicator button that extends when it is clogged. The return filter has a bypass allowing fluid to return in the event of a clog.
If the return filter were to also become clogged, there would be no way for fluid to bypass, resulting in hydrostatic flight control lock up
What does the #1 hydraulic pump do?
Supplies pressure to the #1 first stage fore, aft and lateral primary servos and the #1 T/R servo
What does the #2 hydraulic pump do?
Supplies pressure to the #2 second stage fore, aft and lateral primary servo and the pilot assist area
What consists of the pilot assist area?
Pitch, roll, yaw SAS actuators
Pitch boost, collective and yaw boost servos
Pitch trim assembly
What does the back-up hydraulic pump provide?
Pressure to the #1 and/or #2 hydraulic systems independently.
2nd stage T/R servo
APU Accumulator
It also supplies pressure to the flight controls during ground checks with rotors not turning
When will the hydraulic pump come on?
1 Res Low
#1Hydraulic Pump
#2Hydraulic Pump
#1 T/R Servo
APU Accum low
When does the RSVR 1 Low caution come on?
When the fluid quantity switch is less then 60%
When do the filter buttons pop?
70 psid and bypass at 100psid
How far can the fluid be into the overfill zone?
3/8” (black or blue) when hot. Based off of the gold band.
What is the temperature label on the outside not allowed to succeed?
132C/270F
What does LDI isolate?
Leaks in the #1 T/R servo and pilot assist area
