Hydraulics and Pneumatics part 2 Flashcards
What type of component:
This component is the end part of the system, the component which converts the hydraulic fluid power into a mechanical force and motion
Hydraulic actuator
what type of hydraulic actuator:
This actuator usually comprises a cylinder and piston operating in back and forth movement, with the cylinder being attached to part of the airframe structure and the piston to the device being operated
Linear actuator
what type of hydraulic actuator:
This actuator changer linear movement of the piston into a rotary movement through teeth cut into the piston shaft and which drives a pinion in a similar manner to the rack and pinion steering mechanism of a motor car.
Rotary actuator
An actuator can be locked in position, for example holding flaps at a set deflection by the action of a rotary valve. This is called?
Hydraulic lock
The high pressure pneumatic system, pressure range is?
1 000 - 3 000psi
The medium pressure pneumatic system, pressure range is?
100 - 150 psi
The low pressure pneumatic system, pressure range is?
1 - 10psi
What type of pneumatic pressure system:
The bottle is normally recharged on the ground with a compressor and with such an arrangement, this supply of air is reserved for emergency use only.
High pressure system
What type of pneumatic pressure system:
This system normally do not include an air bottle. Bleed air is taken from the compressor stage of the turbine engine and lead through tubing via pressure control valves to the operating units
Medium pressure system
What type of pneumatic pressure system:
This type of system is used to drive certain of the aircraft’s gyro instruments
Low pressure system
