Clinical prediction rule indications for lumbar
-FABQ <18
-duration 15 or less
-no symps distal to knee
-lumbar hypomob
-either hip >35 degrees IR
4 indications for spinal GPM-V technique
-mechanically blocked/locked facet
-rate of progress plateaued or slowed w/ manual
-end range stiffness with minimal pain
-oscillatory or sustained mobs creates soreness that doesn’t subside timely
Absolute contraindications (12)
-cancer
-osteoporosis
-s/s cord involvement
-s/s cauda equina
-neural sign and/or symp >1 adjacent cervical or 2 adjacent lumbar n roots
-high irritability
-acute radicular pain
-unstable fx
-VBI symps
-blood clotting disorders
-hx oral corticosteroids
-pt doesn’t consent

Examples of neuromuscular precautions
scoliosis, spina bifida, gout, Scheuermann’s disease (juvenile kyphosis), spondylolisthesis, ankylosing spondylitis

advanced vascular diseases (CAD or PVD), past hx of DVT
